As I look forward to the coming year of classes, field work, and student teaching, I must admit I don't feel prepared to handle a classroom. I am relying on my APS classes to learn about lesson planning. My teacher/mentor friends tell me I will learn on the job. They tell me there is no substitute for being "on" in front of a class all day.
I am hoping to "pull all the ends together" and emerge with a reliable framework from which I can teach. I hope I will feel more confident as the weeks unfold.
I feel most ready to teach writing classes after taking Teaching Writing. Hopefully, this course will provide a similar experience.
Right now, I feel compelled to find viable lesson plans that I can edit to suit my needs. If anyone knows about resources in this area, please let me know.
